God’s Name: He Who Blots Out Your
Transgressions
hu makhaw pesha (hebrew)
I am he who blots out your transgressions for my own sake,
and I will not remember your sins.
Isaiah 43:25 (ESV)
Steps on Your Journey to Know God More Intimately:
- Hu is he. Makhaw means to erase, wipe out, blot out or destroy. Pesha means a revolt, rebellion, sin or trespass. Sin means an offense and its penalty. How comforting to know that God has completely erased our sins—never to be remembered again! When you confess your sin, you can imagine God saying, “What sin?”
- Thank Him that He blots out your sins and never remembers them again. However, we don’t want to presume on God’s grace and forgiveness. Galatians 5:13 says, “You, my brothers, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the sinful nature; rather, serve one another in love.”
- Are there any sins you need to confess today? You might want to ask the Lord to reveal to you anything you need to confess.
A Prayer For You:
Lord, I’m grateful that You wipe out my transgressions and will never remember them again. Thank You that You not only erase my sin, You traded Your righteousness for my sin as 2 Corinthians 5:21 says. I know I don’t deserve it, but I’m so thankful.
Blessings on you,
