Jesus Christ Our Lord
To the only God our Savior be glory, majesty, power and authority,
through Jesus Christ our Lord, before all ages, now and forevermore! Amen.
Jude 1:25
God is faithful, who has called you into fellowship
with his Son Jesus Christ our Lord.
1 Corinthians 1:9
Steps on Your Journey to Know God More Intimately:
Consider each word in this name:
· Jesus—His human name
· Christ—the Messiah, the Anointed One
· Our—He’s not only the Lord of others, but He is your Lord
· Lord—Master, owner
Jesus came to earth as God’s Anointed One to be your Lord and Savior. What does that mean to you?
Notice 1 Corinthians 1:9 says that God is faithful and He called you into fellowship with His Son Jesus. Think about that. The word faithful is Pistos meaning trustworthy, sure and true. How does this affect your life?
How does your life reflect that Jesus is your Lord and Master? Is there anything you may need to change?
One gift I’m giving to people this year is a large nail with a red ribbon bow on it, with a note saying, “A Reminder of Why Baby Jesus Came.” This Christmas season, think about why the Baby came. Consider giving this gift. It’s inexpensive and a great reminder.
A Prayer for You:
Jesus Christ, thank You for coming to earth to be both my Messiah, the One who would save me from my sins, as well as my Lord and Master. I’m so grateful for all You did for me. I want to bring You glory, majesty, power and authority through my life.
Here’s what my pastor said when he read The Surprising Joy of Exploring God’s Heart:
“We will never grow beyond our revelation of who God is. Everything in our lives flows from our understanding of the character and attributes of God. One of the best ways to grow in our relationship with God is to grow in our understanding of His names. This book is a great tool to become more intimately acquainted with the many facets of God’s character by praying into and thinking deeply upon the names of God.”
