Christ, Who Existed from the Beginning

I am writing to you who are mature in the faith
because you know Christ, who existed from the beginning.
I am writing to you who are young in the faith
because you have won your battle with the evil one.

How was your Christmas? I  pray it was blessed.

Meditate on this name today. What does it mean to you today that Christ existed from the beginning?

Blessings on you as you finish out 2017 and prepare for a new year.

Here’s what one of the readers of The Surprising Joy of Exploring God’s Heart had to say.

“I’ve always found great joy in exploring God’s unique identity and have studied it often. But this book has opened my eyes in new ways to appreciate who He is, and to love Him more than ever. Each day is a heart-warming adventure as I come to know Him more, and examine my relationship with Him in new ways.”

Jesus Christ Our Lord

Excerpted  from The Surprising Joy of Exploring God’s Heart

A Daily Adventure with 365 of His Names

To the only God our Savior be glory, majesty, power and authority,

through Jesus Christ our Lord, before all ages, now and forevermore! Amen.

Jude 1:25

God is faithful, who has called you into fellowship

with his Son Jesus Christ our Lord.

1 Corinthians 1:9

Steps on Your Journey to Know God More Intimately:

Consider each word in this name:

·        Jesus—His human name

·        Christ—the Messiah, the Anointed One

·        Our—He’s not only the Lord of others, but He is your Lord

·        Lord—Master, owner

Jesus came to earth as God’s Anointed One to be your Lord and Savior. What does that mean to you?

Notice 1 Corinthians 1:9 says that God is faithful and He called you into fellowship with His Son Jesus. Think about that. The word faithful is Pistos meaning trustworthy, sure and true. How does this affect your life?

How does your life reflect that Jesus is your Lord and Master? Is there anything you may need to change?

One gift I’m giving to people this year is a large nail with a red ribbon bow on it, with a note saying, “A Reminder of Why Baby Jesus Came.” This Christmas season, think about why the Baby came. Consider giving this gift. It’s inexpensive and a great reminder.

A Prayer for You:

Jesus Christ, thank You for coming to earth to be both my Messiah, the One who would save me from my sins, as well as my Lord and Master. I’m so grateful for all You did for me. I want to bring You glory, majesty, power and authority through my life.

Here’s what my pastor said when he read The Surprising Joy of Exploring God’s Heart:

“We will never grow beyond our revelation of who God is. Everything in our lives flows from our understanding of the character and attributes of God.  One of the best ways to grow in our relationship with God is to grow in our understanding of His names.   This book is a great tool to become more intimately acquainted with the many facets of God’s character by praying into and thinking deeply upon the names of God.”

Eternal Life, Which was with the Father and Has Appeared to Us

The life appeared; we have seen it and testify to it, and we proclaim to you the eternal life, which was with the Father and has appeared to us.

1 John 1:2 NIV

Blessings on you as you get to know God, Gaylyn Williams, author of The Surprising Joy of Exploring God’s Heart: A Daily Adventure with 365 of His Names.

Here’s what my dad said when he read 2031 Names of God:

“This book (2031 Names of God) is beyond amazing! What a treasure! I’ve considered myself a serious student of Scripture for 60 years, but had no idea of the richness of God’s revelation about who He is. This book will be a companion to my Bible reading and devotional times from now on, as I come to appreciate even more God’s rich character.”

Mighty God

Gibbor El (Hebrew)

 For to us a child is born, to us a son is given;
and the government shall be upon his shoulder,
and his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,
 Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

Isaiah 9:6 (ESV)

Steps on Your Journey to Know God More Intimately:

The word for Mighty, Gibbor, in Hebrew means powerful, strong and valiant

Read the verses, below to see more about how mighty God is:

Jeremiah 32:18: “You show steadfast love to thousands, but you repay the guilt of fathers to their children after them, O great and mighty God, whose name is the Lord of hosts” (ESV).

 A Prayer for You:

Mighty God, I worship You today. Thank You that Your strength is not like any human’s. You are all-powerful. There is absolutely nothing that is too hard for You. Thank You that I can lean on You and trust You for everything in my life.

“Having been a follower of Christ from a young age and then surrendering to ministry as a teenager, I have often found myself  in “desert places”.  Through those dry times, God has always been faithful to water my soul in unexpected ways.   God has used this book to lovingly bring hope and refreshing back into my heart and home. Through it, I have slowed down enough to fix my gaze upon the All-sufficient One.  What joy to rest in His presence.”

“By coming to know God we are given everything we need to live a godly life (2 Pe 1:3). This book is a labor of love from Gaylyn Williams’ heart, to God’s people who desire to know Him better, and what better way to get to know Him than to study His names. Each name of God expresses one of His attributes, thereby telling us Who He really is. I urge you, to use this book along with your Bible, read it daily, study it and meditate on Him, the God who is Love (1John 4:16). Wow!!! What a Savior!”

—Steven R Sherwood, Sr. Pastor Fairview Baptist Church, Kokomo, IN
